ParticipantI think it would be a cool idea if people’s Recommendations were visible if you were to check their profile! Might be a fun way to connect to people, especially over obscure or uncommon picks. Perhaps some sort of comment section could be implemented in that fashion? Also an opt-in/opt-out setting if people do or don’t want to publicly share their recommendations?
But until then I think it might be nice to share people’s TV and Movie recommendations. I know the other thread kinda has this but that was not the intention of that thread so I don’t know why people started doing that.
So feel free to share your TV Show/Movie recommendations here! Maybe share why you it’s a suggestion either from what you enjoy the most of it or what you think makes it a good suggestion for Blind Wave in particular?
I’ll start!
TV Shows
Red vs. Blue – I think this is a perfect show for the guys for it’s comedy (even if it’s initially a bit dated, very of its own early internet humour but eventually evolves and develops like everything else). But also due to its drama that really becomes amazing after a certain point and then of course Monty Oum’s legendary action and whilst it goes down after that, there’s still some fun fights afterwards still.Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace – Another that I feel is perfect for the guys to just bust their bellies laughing over but I won’t say anything else because it’s best going into the show as blind as possible! Makes it so much funnier!
Beast Wars: Transformers – A childhood favourite of mine, would love for the guys to revisit this or watch it for the first time! The 1st season is a bit eh, but the 2nd season is brilliant and just great TV in general. The 3rd is up and down, most likely because they got cancelled and had to rush it since it was originally supposed to have 4 seasons!
Due South – A very niche with a cult following, I grew up on this show because of my mother and I recently revisited it and it deserves to be so much more known. Great buddy cop show with fun characters and also a wolf! How can you not love that?!
Movies
Ready or Not – Just a fun horrorish/thriller, I love the sorta sarcastic and dry witty dark humour in this, lots of fun especially for those who enjoy the ‘spirit’ of board games or ‘party’ games.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Secret of the Ooze – Obviously no way near as good as the original film but I still think it’s a fun time!
Batman Forever and Batman & Robin – I know, not great movies but I think they’d be fun for a High & Dry reaction/commentary! Some of my favs growing up and I do think there are some things to appreciate.
So what’s yours? And how do you feel about the idea of people seeing your recommendations on your profile? I would imagine there could be a setting for opting out in making your recommendations public?

ParticipantI admittedly just have one (so far) but it’s one that I will never stop recommending despite its short length and the fact that it was cancelled after a single season— Dead Boy Detectives. I never saw a single person say anything bad about it, and everyone I recommended it to— even those who considered themselves much less interested in the genre, style of show, or whatever— without fail fell head over heels for this wonderful show. All the characters are super likable (yes, including the antagonists, and I don’t just mean in a “you love to hate them” way— you genuinely find yourself thinking about them affectionately the same way you would a friend, even when you hate them), the character dynamics are gold, the comedy is quirky but never misses, the VISUAL BUDGET is insane, the emotion feels real (even at times getting me, a famously pretty disaffected person among my friends, to feel my heartrate speeding up and chest constricting in those particularly sad or scary moments) and best of all, you can tell the actors are having a fantastic time playing their roles. It’s genuinely inspiring and I love this show with all my heart.
Also, the foreshadowing in the intro (which absolutely slaps) is incredible— every new episode you’re noticing new things from it that suddenly make a world more sense. Also just the foreshadowing in the show in general. Not to mention that the soundtrack absolutely SLAPS.
