1. There’s single line timeline and multiverse timeline. Single line timeline has boot straps, multiverse doesn’t because one timeline affecting another changes the flow of that timeline. If you can only travel on your time line you have to be careful of boot straps, if you can’t then unfortunately no matter what you change in the last doesn’t affect you when you return because your still on your original timeline. You’d have to go to another time line in which case another you would exist. Which brings all kinds of other ethical questions. Like how do you take the place of the future you that has a better future because you changed it for yourself? Then you get the time travel full of plot holes.
