1. The oceanside scene is just in their heads as Mai is about to die (anime logic). The thing Mai creates is the sword that Maki is holding when she wakes up, that’s why Maki has two swords during her Kill Bill fight, the one she brought that has jets on the back and the one Mai made.

   1. Yeah. Kinda like with Kugisaki Nobara in that white classroom. Or Nanami on a beach too. It seems to be a recurring thing in JJK to have these characters experience moments like these when they’re on their deathbed.

3. Naoya and his dad Naobito have the same technique. If he touches someone they also have to do the 24 movements in my a second or freeze. Maki did the movement correctly and didn’t get frozen like he planned having successfully counted the frames.
